Alter, Add on, or Knock down Rebuild?

If your home has reached that critical point of ” need of change” due to new family needs or desires or maintenance issues that  if put off any longer will become an unproductive cost then you will be confronted with the question; alter, add on, knock it down and build a new one or just move on.

Some of the factors needing consideration are:

• how settled and how much do I like my present neighbourhood?
• do we just need some maintenance and a spruce up?
• do we really need more space for an extra bedroom or home theatre?
• do we need to upgrade the bathroom or kitchen?
• does the extent of the upgrade justify a complete knockdown rebuild?
• how long are we planning to stay in this property…..a stepping stone or forever?
